Remembering Revival Words 5
I am continuing to remind myself of words that have stirred in me about revival over the last 5 years from BuyTheField.
Reviving Synapse.
originally penned August 19, 2020.
Why do we even think what we think? Trillions of synapses firing unaware. I need to cut the grass. I’m not feeling well. The coffee smells good. Ordinary. Maybe even mundane at times. My parents healthcare challenges are increasing. Covid and church are challenging. I miss my children. Our granddaughter is so lovely. More notable. Different kind of stirring. All firing at the synapses.
I’m desperate for your reviving Jesus. Another synapse fired. Why? How?
God is always previous.
That’s just our way to describe it. He is not bound by earthly, chronos time. His kairos existence IS. Previous is our way to describe that God is before us in every thought, every word, every thing. “Even before there is a word on my tongue, behold, O Lord, You know it all.”
Bible book of Psalm, chapter 80, verses 18 and 19.
“Revive us and we will call upon Your name. O Lord of hosts, restore us. Cause Your face to shine upon us and we will be saved.”
There is not any real need and movement to pray for a reviving of my spiritual hunger and thirst for Jesus if I, if the church think that things are ok. Things are the way we want it. Things are “routined” and traditioned” to the point that this is the ceiling that we want.
Nice people.
Nice things.
Nice church.
A synapse please dear God. “Revive us and we will call upon Your name.” Don’t miss this Damon. This is subtle. I catch myself thinking this way. I ask God for His reviving first. NO! We NEED God’s initiating reviving to revive us so that we would even call upon His name to ask for His reviving. That in itself is an indication of His reviving. HE IS ALWAYS PREVIOUS. We need Your initiating movement to even begin to ask You for more. Our calling on Your name is always a sign of Your reviving. We wouldn’t do it on our own. So I’m asking for more Lord. Please Lord, initiate Your reviving in me like You did when You first gave me a new heart. And oh, sweet Saviour, revive one for the first time even here in the reading of these synapses.
Even if it seems to me that all I’m ever doing is desperately calling on Your name for my need of more reviving, that is Your reviving.
And I want more.
All dependent on Your always existing, previous to us, radiant glory sparking in my chronos minutes. I don’t understand it. I can’t fully take it in. And I want it. I want You.
Out of your already-reviving radiance, revive me, revive us to cry out to You for more reviving…..
More synapses, please Lord.
There's more.
