Be with Jesus.

Be with Jesus. There is no clever way to say this. Be with Jesus.

Election, world series, Vols, iPod, worry, addiction, vacation, wasted time, laziness, screens, fun things, life management. A quick dozen.

What is my proximity to these things? What is my proximity to Jesus?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with giving attention to some of the above things. And they can steal time away from being with Jesus.

There is absolutely so much heart crushing bondage in giving attention to some of the above things. And they can steal away from being with Jesus. The landscape of things that can occupy the space of simply being with Jesus ranges from noble and focus worthy to soul rotting and hell inducing, and on either end of the map, we're still not being with Jesus. Hmmmm.

Jesus. Change the posture of my heart.

There are a number of Mary's mentioned in the Bible. Notice one of those Mary's in three different places. This is the same Mary in 3 places....being with Jesus.

Place #1 (Bible book of Luke chapter 10 verse 39): With her sister Martha in their home, hosting Jesus for a meal on His way to Jerusalem. Unexpected visit, casual atmosphere, few people. Mary's posture? At the feet of Jesus.

Place #2 (Bible book of John chapter 11 verse 32): Four days after her brother died, wondering if Jesus had shown up earlier if her brother's life would have been spared. In the midst of bitter grieving, intense atmosphere. Mary's posture? At the feet of Jesus.

Place #3 (Bible book of John chapter 12 verse 3): At a dinner honoring Jesus. Formal event, more people. Mary's posture? At the feet of Jesus.

Consistent body posture mirroring consistent heart posture.

She keeps showing up being with Jesus at His feet.

Consistent body posture mirroring consistent heart posture.

Intimate.

There's more.
